Marcela Martínez is a community leader, entrepreneur, and legal professional who has built her life and career in Canada. A graduate of the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin College, she has extensive experience in business leadership, innovation, strategic growth, marketing, and partnership development. Throughout her professional and community work, Marcela has brought people together, developed practical solutions, and helped create opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is currently President of the Colombian Community of Ottawa–Gatineau, where she promotes civic participation, supports the integration of newcomers, and strengthens connections between cultural communities and Canadian institutions. Having experienced the challenges and opportunities of building a new life in Canada, Marcela understands the importance of fair access to employment, education, public services, and economic opportunity. She is committed to an inclusive and prosperous Quebec where French is promoted positively, individual freedoms are respected, and every resident has the opportunity to contribute and succeed. Her contributions to community development and social causes have also been recognized by the Government of Colombia, which honoured her as an Outstanding Colombian in Canada.

Yesica Ochoa
More than 25 years ago, Yesica Ochoa moved from Mexico to Quebec after earning her law degree from Universidad Anáhuac. Since then, she has built her life in Quebec, become a Canadian citizen, and developed a career that spans entrepreneurship, real estate, communications, the arts, and community service. As an entrepreneur and real estate owner, Yesica has managed rental properties and worked directly with tenants, contractors, insurers, financial institutions, and government agencies. These experiences have given her practical insight into the challenges of housing, small business, and navigating public systems. Believing that culture brings people together, Yesica co-founded Fondation Frères Unis par le Monde and serves as its President. Through the foundation, she produced Weekends du Monde – Mexico in collaboration with Parc Jean-Drapeau, showcasing Mexican culture as part of one of Montreal's largest multicultural festivals. A passionate communicator, Yesica created and hosted her online program Y porque no? Con Yesica O and volunteered as a radio host with Mike FM, and Radio Centre-Ville. She has also appeared as a guest on radio programs in Argentina, Costa Rica, Germany, and other countries. Outside of public life, Yesica is also a singer, songwriter, and actress. She believes that the arts, culture, and open dialogue help strengthen communities and bring people together. Fluent in French, English, and Spanish, with conversational Italian, Yesica is running to represent the people of Quebec with integrity, practical experience, and a commitment to responsible, transparent government.

A Strong Voice for the Community: From Healthcare and Journalism to Civic Leadership Who is Emilia Farcutiu? Emilia Farcutiu is a professional deeply dedicated to people and her community. Her life journey is defined by courage, adaptability, and a constant drive to bring about positive societal change. Settled in Quebec, where she successfully rebuilt her career and family life, Emilia combines a strong European academic foundation with extensive on-the-ground experience within the Quebec education and healthcare systems. 📚 Education and Early Professional Success Born and educated in Romania, Emilia graduated from the University of Bucharest (Faculty of Geography), specializing in Environmental Research — a rigorous scientific foundation that gives her a clear, analytical view of today's ecological challenges. Her passion for people and communication led her into the arts and media. Graduating with a degree in Film Directing from Media University of Bucharest, she worked for several years as an investigative journalist and reporter. The hallmark of her journalism career was spending 18 months with the Romanian National Television (TVR), where she championed public integrity, active listening, and administrative accountability. 🍁 Integration in Quebec: Family, Education, and Healthcare Upon immigrating to Canada, Emilia chose to prioritize her family while embracing a successful professional reinvention, dedicating her energy to serving the community: Education: She pursued specialized studies in education in Quebec and worked as an educator, guiding the early development of the next generation. Healthcare: She later transitioned into healthcare, completing her credentials in Physiotherapy (Kinésithérapie). Today, Emilia proudly practices as a physiotherapist, helping fellow citizens regain their health, mobility, and well-being daily. This role provides her with unfiltered, firsthand insight into the real-world dynamics and challenges of our healthcare system. 🗳️ Political Engagement and Vision for the Future Emilia is not a career politician; she is a grassroots community leader. Last year, she stepped into local politics, running in the municipal elections in Brossard (District P-V). Despite a swift one-month campaign, her authenticity and practical solutions strongly resonated with voters, earning her 400 votes (a remarkable 20% of the vote) and demonstrating a powerful ability to connect with and mobilize the community. Alongside her medical practice and political dedication, Emilia is a forward-thinking entrepreneur. She is currently establishing an eco-responsible integrative wellness initiative: a weekend detox and wellness mini-center in La Patrie, a project she will continue to expand over the next two years. Michelle Julien
With a career in financial services spanning more than three decades, Michelle Julien has been helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals since 1994. Known for her client-focused approach, she brings extensive experience, professionalism, and a deep commitment to serving diverse communities across Quebec. Born in Toronto to Québécois parents and raised in a family of seven children, she developed a strong appreciation for both of Canada’s official languages and cultures from an early age. Fully bilingual in English and French, she has always viewed the ability to live and work in both languages as a valuable asset that helps build understanding, connection, and opportunity. In 2011, she relocated to Quebec’s Eastern Townships, where she continues to live and work. Her children, who were raised in Toronto, are also fluent in both French and English, reflecting her family’s longstanding commitment to bilingualism. She is married to a lawyer who grew up in the Eastern Townships and whose heritage reflects the rich cultural diversity of Quebec, with Irish and French-Canadian roots. Throughout her career and community involvement, she has been a passionate advocate for issues that strengthen quality of life for Quebec families. She has a particular interest in women’s health, especially the unique healthcare challenges and opportunities that arise during the second half of life. She believes Quebec’s greatest strength lies in its people and their shared aspirations for affordability, economic stability, environmental stewardship, quality healthcare, and excellent educational opportunities. Her professional experience, combined with her deep ties to both English- and French-speaking communities, has given her a unique perspective on the importance of collaboration, inclusion, and practical solutions that benefit all Quebecers. Today, she continues to dedicate her time and expertise to helping others, guided by a commitment to service, integrity, and building a stronger future for the communities she serves.

Maryam Kamali Nezhad
Candidate for the Canadian Party of Quebec in Westmount–Saint-Louis For Maryam Kamali Nezhad, public service means listening to citizens, defending their rights, and putting her experience to work in pursuit of practical solutions. Now a resident of Westmount, Maryam is an engineer, manager, entrepreneur, and former municipal councillor. A wife and mother, she has nearly 30 years of professional experience in Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Specializing in hydraulics and hydrology, she holds a PhD from the Institut polytechnique de Grenoble in France. She also completed postdoctoral research at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique and taught civil and mining engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. Since 2009, Maryam has worked at Hydro-Québec in hydroelectric generation planning and water resource management. Her work requires rigour, sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and long-term vision, particularly when balancing energy needs, infrastructure safety, and environmental protection. Alongside her professional career, she co-manages a Quebec company specializing in structural systems, industrial equipment, and storage solutions. This experience has given her a direct understanding of the realities faced by entrepreneurs, employers, and workers: rising costs, excessive red tape, high taxes, labour shortages, and difficulties accessing financing. Maryam believes Quebec has remarkable talent, abundant resources, and dynamic entrepreneurs, but that its economic potential is too often held back by bureaucracy, political uncertainty, and identity-based debates that distract from the province’s real priorities. She wants a Quebec that is more productive, more competitive, and more open to investment, trade within Canada, and international markets. From 2021 to 2025, Maryam served as a municipal councillor for the Town of Mount Royal. In that role, she defended transparency, fiscal responsibility, and meaningful public consultation. In 2025, she ran for mayor to promote a more accountable form of government that was closer to the people. This experience taught her that an elected representative must be willing to ask difficult questions, demand accountability, and remain true to her principles. A Canadian of Iranian origin, Maryam studied and worked in several countries before choosing Quebec and Canada as the place to build her life and raise her son. Her journey has taught her the value of democracy, individual freedom, the rule of law, equal opportunity, and political stability. Maryam is a committed federalist. She believes Quebec’s future lies within a strong and united Canada. She opposes Quebec sovereignty, as well as nationalist and identity-based policies that divide citizens, weaken their rights, and undermine Quebec’s economic stability. For Maryam, being both Quebecer and Canadian is not a contradiction. It is possible to take pride in Quebec culture, protect and promote the French language, and at the same time remain fully committed to Canada and its institutions. Able to communicate in both French and English, Maryam considers knowledge of both languages to be a cultural, social, and economic strength. She believes every citizen should be able to live, work, study, access government services, and feel fully at home in Quebec, regardless of which official language they speak. She supports promoting French through culture, education, economic opportunity, and inclusion—not by reducing the rights of another community. She believes in protecting the rights of Quebec’s English-speaking community, respecting the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and ensuring equality for all citizens. Maryam is running as the Canadian Party of Quebec candidate in Westmount–Saint-Louis because she shares its core principles: Canadian unity, bilingualism, the rule of law, individual freedom, and democracy without division. She wants the government to refocus on the issues that truly affect people’s daily lives: the cost of living, the economy, access to health care, housing, taxation, infrastructure, and the responsible management of public funds. Maryam approaches these challenges with the rigour of an engineer, the experience of a manager, the understanding of an entrepreneur, and the listening skills she has developed through public service. Her commitment is clear: to defend the rights of Quebecers, contribute to their prosperity, and help build a bilingual, confident, and strong Quebec within a united Canada.
